Arduino Box Jointer #1

Smart Box Jointer

Here is my first useful Arduino Project: it will use a Nema stepper motor with a ball screw, two linear guides and the structure will be built in plywood (I guess..). I wanted to take some inspiration from this project I found on Instructables:

https://www.instructables.com/id/SmartJointer-SmartMiniArduino-Controlled-Box-Joint/

Unfortunately even though those guys shared their own arduino code, I couldn’t figure out how to use for my purpose, therefore i decided to build my own one. I purchased from Amazon a display shield for Arduino:

https://www.amazon.it/HALJIA%C2%AE-Display-Keyboard-Arduino-MEGA2560/dp/B06XDNY7FY/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1547922787&sr=8-9&keywords=display+shield

This thing is useful because it fits onto a single shield a 16×2 LCD display and 6 push buttons to use for your menus and settings. It took me a while to figure out how to make it work for my purpose, but now, after some hours of working and shouting it seems to work. You can actually scroll within the menu and set the parameters you need to have the program fitted to your workpiece.

You can find the first video showing how it’s working at the link below. Please send me your comments!

That’s all for today.
