Together with my new Makita Track Saw I decided it was time to get some upgrades in my workshop and one of the most urgent things to add was an efficient, silent, powerfull, health friendly dust collector.
After some research I decided to go with this small professional vacuum cleaner made by BOSCH: the GAS20L SFC (here is the link if you want to buy on Amazon too).
Let’s start first with the specifications of this unit. It is a mobile wet/dry dust extractor with semi-automatic filter cleaning. Thanks to the following specs it works just great with my cyclonic dust collector.
| Max. input power* | 1,200W |
| Weight* | 6kg |
| Container volume, net* | 15l |
| Dust class of wet/dry extractor | L |
| Rated input power | 1,200W |
| Container volume, gross | 19l |
| Container volume, net, water | 7.5l |
| Dust bag volume, net | 6.7l |
| Dust class | L |
| Tool dimensions (width) | 376mm |
| Tool dimensions (length) | 440mm |
| Tool dimensions (height) | 482mm |
| Filter surface area | 2,800cm² |
| Max. airflow rate (turbine) | 62l/s |
| Max. vacuum pressure (turbine) | 215mbar |

The dust collection bag
It comes with a dust collection bag which is to me very useful as it prevent the filter to be clogged. I have to say though that you have to be very careful because if for some reason your hose gets blocked, then there is a high probability that this bag could implode under the negative pressure acting in the vacuum cleaner body. No biggie from a security standpoint but if this happens the you won’t notice anything until your filter will get be full. Since this is what happens to me and because you get just one bag in the box, I had to replace mine and buy a new one. After some research I decided to go with an alternative version slightly different from the original one: the genuine one was a simple plastic bag, the new model I just bought is a microfiber bag (here is the link if you want to buy it too). The reason why I decided to go with this new version is that I am usually using my GAS20 together with my DIY Cyclonic Dust Collection System and most of the dust will fall into the dust bucket while the micro-fiber bag will just serve as an additional filter.
