Makita – Festool TRACKSAW DEFLECTOR

This time I didn’t have the time to design it myself and I decided to find one ready to print on thingiverse and, after some search I found this one: Festool Deflector FS-AW. The print took me about 4 hours and went just great, but.. unfortunately probably because I use a Makita track saw the dimensions were a bit off compared to my aluminum track guide.

Fit test
The side of the deflector is a bit longer than the guide itself

Guess what?? I then decide to make as usual my own version. I just changed a bit the design therefore you’ll just need to use M5 countersunk screw and a M5 nut without the need to print an additional knob for two reasons:

  • I don’t want to remove the deflector so often
  • The knob is affecting the functionality of the deflector as it prevents the hose to slide freely on the deflector itself

What you’ll need

  • Print files on Thingiverse: here
  • M5 countersunk screw
  • M5 nut

The print takes 3 and a half hours with my Creality, then you’re good to go and test it.

The last version I designed and printed out is just perfect. The test fit is simply dead on and the functionality is superb. I will use it for some time and probably do some modifications in order to make it even better.

This is the last version

Hope you’ll enjoy it.
