DIY Security System welding

After having some coding I finally came out with a good result even if not totally completed as the gsm module is still not connected and for the time being I think I will leave it as is and try it like that in order to see if there are some kind of hidden bugs in my Arduino program.

So the circuit consist basically in a LCD display 16×2, 3 LEDs, a Keypad and a Arduino Mega board. For now I am just using a PIR sensor and not the door magnetic switch, but I will upgrade the system asap. I will also shortly post my version of the code so that you can use it in your own security system.

I tried all the connection with the help of a breadboard and the tried to replicate it by welding. Unfortunately i came out with a big mess. Then i decided to disconnect and remove all the welding and start over again. This second time fortunately the result was great.

I then put all the circuit in my 3D printed case (take a look at the article about the case I designed and printed) and finally I am testing it in real life world: it turned out really great and so far no bugs came out.

I will shortly post my thoughts about the welding material the you should own to do properly a simple project like this one.

Stay tuned
