Here I am again. I just received the ball screw and linear guide from Bangood and I have to be honest: the first one is worth it, the other one not at all. Therefore I decided to start my project with another linear guide, simpler and maybe cheaper: I am talking about the SBR12 and for my y axis I am going to use the 1000 mm version. I found somewhere in the web the following version of a home made cnc machine and I believe this version would be very similar to the one I have in mind because it seems to be simple to build and pretty sturdy.

With this low profile y axis I’ll be probably able to reduce to a minum the oscilation of the spindle. Let’s see if it is going to work or not.
Wish me luck.
Cheers
Max
